1. ELIGIBILITY TO BET

1.1 To open and use an account, you must:

• be a natural person (no companies or other entities);
• be at least 18 years old;
• complete the registration process accurately and in full;
• be accepted as an account holder by Betway;
• not be listed on the National Register of Excluded Persons in terms of the National Gambling Act, 2004; and
• comply with these Terms.

1.2 By completing the registration process, you confirm that you:

• have read and accepted these Terms and applicable betting rules; and
• are applying to enter into an agreement for the provision of betting services.

An account will be considered opened once Betway confirms registration or accepts a bet after receiving your completed registration details.

2. ACCOUNT OPENING AND MANAGEMENT

2.1 Accuracy of Information

You confirm that all information provided is accurate and up to date. You must notify Betway promptly of any changes to your personal, contact or financial details.

2.2 Acceptance of Applications

Betway reserves the right to:

• accept or decline any application;
• request additional information;
• suspend or restrict accounts; or
• stop accepting bets at its discretion.

Applications may be declined if information is incomplete, inaccurate or not provided within required timeframes.

2.3 Account Security and Use

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details.

You agree that you will:

• hold only one account;
• not open or use an account on behalf of another person;
• not allow others to use your account.

Betway may void bets and withhold winnings where these conditions are breached. You agree to indemnify Betway against any resulting claims or losses.

2.4 Account Closure

Betway may suspend or close your account if these Terms are breached.

2.5 Unauthorised Use

You must notify Betway immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. You remain responsible for all activity until such notification is received.

2.6 Account Access

You will access your account using your login details, which may include your mobile number or another unique identifier and password.

2.7 Access Issues

If login details do not match registered information, access may be restricted until verification is completed.

3. FICA COMPLIANCE

3.1 Legal Requirements

Betway complies with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (“FICA”), which requires identity verification, transaction monitoring and record keeping to prevent unlawful activities.

3.2 Procedures

Betway follows FICA requirements and may implement additional measures to support responsible and compliant operations.

3.3 Identity Verification

Customers must provide:

• full names;
• South African ID or passport number;
• email address;
• mobile number; and
• source of funds.

3.4 Account Activation

Accounts will only be activated once identity verification is completed.

3.5 Supporting Documents

Betway may request:

• identification documents;
• proof of residential address (not older than 3 months);
• proof of bank details.

Failure to provide required documents may result in account suspension or refusal.

3.6 Reporting Obligations

Betway is required to report suspicious or unusual transactions to the Financial Intelligence Centre.

3.7 Suspension Rights

Accounts that do not meet FICA requirements may be suspended.

3.8 Ongoing Verification

Betway may request verification documents at any time.

4. EVENTS AND BETTING MARKETS

4.1 Available Markets

Betway determines, at its discretion, the events and markets available for betting.

The following apply:

• Bets on related contingencies (where outcomes are dependent) are not permitted;
• Such bets may be voided and stakes returned;
• Multiple bets involving the same event or team may be treated as related contingencies.

4.2 Stake Limits

Minimum and maximum stake limits may apply. Customers are responsible for checking applicable limits before placing a bet.

4.3 Payout Limits

Betway may set limits on potential winnings or losses per bet.

4.4 In-Running Bets

Live (in-running) betting may be offered at Betway’s discretion, subject to conditions, including availability of event coverage.

4.5 Spreads

Any spreads offered are determined by Betway and may vary. Customers should confirm applicable spreads before placing bets.
